Governmental Services and Public Aid

  • Through its Neighborhood Improvement Programs, APCC offers support for community members in planning and development projects. Three programs provide direct services to residents and businesses in order to realize projects which improve and enhance the lives of community residents. The programs complement how APCC partners with civic, legislative, community and business leaders. For more information about these programs, call (773) 433-3240

  • Tax Increment Financing / Neighborhood Improvement Program (TIF/NIP)
    Since 2001, APCC has coordinated the Neighborhood Improvement Program (NIP), which is part of the designated Lawrence/Kedzie Tax Increment Financing district (TIF). This program makes Single Family (3flats and up for non-owner occupied buildings) and Multi-Family Grant funds available to owner occupied buildings (single family through 6 flat units) only within the TIF district. . The entire process is followed by close monitoring of the construction for quality control. Applications are taken once a year. Currently the program is accepting Multi-Family Grant applications. The deadline is December 15th, 2007

  • Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP)
    If you can't afford to pay your home energy bill, your home may not be safe, and you may be at risk of serious illness or injury. The Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) is a Federally-funded program to help eligible low income homeowners and renters meet their home heating and/or cooling needs.

  • Home Repair for Accessible and Independent Living (H-RAIL)
    Grants provided to senior citizen homeowners in the City of Chicago for home improvements related to improved accessibility and safety.
