  • Head Start
    Services:  A free federally-funded, comprehensive preschool program for low income, at-risk children. It promotes the social, emotional, cognitive, and physical well being of children by providing educational, medical, nutritional, and social services to children 3 to 5 years of age. In addition, parent involvement is a focus of Head Start, as the parent is their child’s first and most important teacher. The program is accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). The Albany Park Community Center participates in the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP), which provides federal funds to help cover the costs of nutritious meals/snacks to the child (ren) in this program.

    Hours: Half-day, Monday – Thursday, for 10 months 8:15 - 11:45 a.m. or 12:15 - 3:45 p.m.
    Eligibility: Must meet eligibility requirements and income guidelines to qualify.

  • Head Start/Child Care Collaboration
    Services: A federally- and state-funded preschool program that offers all the benefits of the half-day Head Start program with the added advantage of a full-day, full-year schedule. The program is accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). The Albany Park Community Center participates in the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP), which provides federal funds to help cover the costs of nutritious meals/snacks to the child (ren) in this program.

    Hours: Full day, full year 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
    Eligibility:  Parent(s) must be working and/or in school full time and meet eligibility requirements. A sliding scale fee is assessed for the child care portion of the program.

  • Preschool for All Collaboration
    Services:A fee based, NAEYC Accredited Early Childhood Care and Education for children 3 to 5 years of age. The Albany Park Community Center participates in the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP). The center receives Federal funds from this program to help cover the costs of providing nutritious food and well-balanced meals to your child(ren)in this program.

    Services:Nationally accredited school-age child care for children in kindergarten and older. The Albany Park Community Center participates in the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP).
