Head Start

Services: A free federally-funded, comprehensive preschool program for low income, at-risk children and their families. It promotes the social, emotional, cognitive and physical well being of children ages 3 to 5 with the goal of preparing children for a lifetime of learning and success. In addition, parental involvement is a main focus of APCC's Head Start program, as we recognize the parent as their child's first and most important teacher. The program is accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC). The Albany Park Community Center also participates in the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP), which provides federal funds to help cover the costs of nutritious meals and snacks for the chidren in this program.
