Albany Park Community Center RECOGNIZED WITH
“AT&T INVESTING IN ILLINOIS AWARD”
Chicago, DECEMBER 20, 2011 — AT&T Illinois today announced the Albany Park Community Center is the winner of an “AT&T Investing in Illinois Award.”
The AT&T Investing in Illinois Awards provide resources and recognition to organizations and programs that are improving lives in their communities and the state by advancing education, economic growth, new technologies and other essential community services.
“It is rewarding to have the work we do every day recognized by AT&T. We are driven by our mission to serve the community and this award certainly reminds us that the work we do is important to others and appreciated by the local community,” said Harold T. Rice, Chief Executive Officer, Albany Park Community Center. “We also wish to thank State Rep. Toni Berrios for supporting this award.”
Albany Park Community Center will utilize the funding to support various education programs geared towards children and adults which is necessitated by the community.
“AT&T Illinois has a proud history of making corporate contributions to Illinois non-profit groups and programs that are making a difference in local communities. Today, our company recognizes Albany Park Community Center for improving the quality of life for local residents and strengthening the fabric of our state,” said Sylvia Aldrete, AT&T Illinois External Affairs Director.
Albany Park Community Center (APCC) is focused on providing programs for children and youth development, adult education, health care and community development. In addition, APCC assists adults with earning a GED and teaches English as a second language.
State Rep. Toni Berrios nominated Albany Park Community Center for the recognition from AT&T.
“We are fortunate that very committed and caring groups are working to improve the quality of life for many residents of Chicago,” said State Representative Toni Berrios. “Albany Park Community Center does tremendous work and I was pleased to make this nomination to recognize all they do.”
