Peace and Diversity Art Auction To Be Held For Albany Park Community Center
| What: | The Albany Park Community Center will sponsor a city-wide art auction. The theme of the event is peace, unity and diversity and will feature 300 pieces of art from youth and adults gathered from throughout the city. Art will include drawings, paintings, sculpture and photography donated by a diverse, multicultural group of artists. A silent auction and party will kick-off the event and the evening will conclude with a live auction highlighting ten top works of art. |
| Who: | The event is open to the general public. Advance admission is $10 per person and $12 for those who purchase tickets at the door. |
| When: | Thursday, May 12, 2005 - 6:00 p.m. |
Background Information:
All proceeds go to support the after-school tutoring programs, counseling, and drug and alcohol prevention programs at the Albany Park Community Center . The Center serves an ethnically diverse community, offering a myriad of programs such as head start, after-school tutoring, counseling, day camp, adult literacy, employment and housing assistance as well as services that acculturate children and families.
